This collection is the ideal one to get started in the kitchen.  The Paring Knife will become an indispensable part of your cooking, ideal for most jobs, from peeling spuds, to more the fancy stuff like julienne leek or turning navarins!   The old chefs adage is ‘the right knife for the right job’ but I find myself using this one for lots of jobs!  The 6” chef’s knife is the one I favour, and while I do use the 10” knife for chopping herbs, a beginner will find the 6” knife easier to handle.  Last in this collection is the Bread Knife, but not least by any means, perfect for that crusty loaf or for a crumbly soda cake.
